For the 54th year, the BMNECC will take part in the Pittsburgh Folk Festival, which will be held at the Monroeville Convention Center, May 13 through 15, 2011.

Our Performing Ensemble Otets Paissii will perform on Saturday at 8:00 pm. Our Children's Ensemble will perform on Sunday at 1:00 pm.

Advance tickets are available for $8. Please contact Julie Rhyner at julie.rhyner@gmail.com or at 412-608-0165 for information. Tickets are available at the door for $10. Children under 12 and current/former military personnel are admitted for free.

We will also have an ethnic display booth, where we'll be showcasing authentic crafts, artifacts, photos and videos representing Bulgaria. This year we'll have storytelling sessions, and will regale visitors with tales of Bulgarian heroes and legends! And don't forget to visit us in the Marketplace area, where we'll be selling beautiful Bulgarian gift items.

We will need help in many different areas, so please contact us soon if you'd like to volunteer to help during the festival. Phone 412-461-6188 or send us an email.

And please stop by the Bulgarian Center at 10:00 pm after the Folk Festival on Saturday, May 14, for our special Festival Vecherinka. It's our liveliest folk dance of the year and has been a BMNECC tradition since 1956! Learn more »
