A traditional and typical soup from the island country of Malta. Aljotta is from the Italian word aglio, meaning garlic. This is a rich fish soup with plenty of tomatoes, potatoes, peas, herbs, onion and garlic. Serve with fried or grilled bread.

An unusual soup of tomato and tamarind infused with Indian spices such as cumin, fenugreek and curry leaves. From southern India, a traditional soup normally served as a second course. It can be eaten plain or mixed with rice.
