Have fun volunteering at the Bulgarian Center! Meet new friends, hone your skills, explore opportunities and experience a new culture.
The Center is currently seeking volunteers to help in many areas. High school and college students can gain valuable experience and possible course credits by volunteering. Adults can offer their expertise and enjoy working on projects that are vital to the Center's culinary program, cultural initiatives, and preservation projects.You'll learn new things and feel good at the same time! Soup Sega! - help is needed for Saturday morning soup preparation. Chop, stir and socialize in our homey kitchen!
Museum and archives collection - we need people to help preserve and archive our huge collection of music, film, video, photography, art, and historic documents. This involves scanning, digitizing, and cataloging, using the Center's state-of-the art hardware and software.
Tour group visits and social/gala events - help is needed with admissions, setup, and bar/kitchen duties. This is a great way to meet interesting people from various Pittsburgh organizations.
Library and gift shop - volunteers are needed to help maintain and archive items.
Costume collection - we need help with the acquisition and maintenance of new and vintage costumes.
Pittsburgh Folk Festival - help is needed each May in all areas in which we participate: festival preparation, food and display booths, the marketplace area, and multi-cutural educational programs. Our Center was a founding member of the Folk Festival more than 50 years ago. Help carry on the tradition!
