Choreographer and dance instructor Aleksandar Zankin established BMNECC’s Danka Folk Dance Group in 2012 for adults interested in performing authentic Bulgarian folk dance. The group studies and performs dozens of authentic dances from the seven ethnographic regions of Bulgaria. The group has performed at the BMNECC’s Bulgarian Folk Festival “Na Megdana” since 2105, and also participates in numerous local festivals and events. The dancers performed at the Bulgarian Folk Festival “Verea” in Chicago from 2016 through 2018.
